TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL iBT)

The test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) measures the ability of non native speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is
spoken, written and heard in college and university settings. Most people who take TOEFL are planning to study at colleges and universities where instruction
is in English. In addition many government agencies, scholarship programmes and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English, ®

The graduate management admission test (GMAT) is a standardize assessment – delivered in English that help business schools assess the qualification for advanced study in business and management.

Schools use the test as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA or in other graduate management programme. The GMAT measures basic verbal, mathematic and analytic writing skills that you have developed over a long period of time in education and work.

FORMAT AND TIMING

The GMAT consist of three main parts, the analytic writing assessment, the quantitative verbal and verbal section.

ANALYTICAL WRITING ASSESSMENT

The AWA consist of two separate writing tasks – analyses of an issue and analyses of an argument. You are allowed 30mins to complete one.

QUANTITATIVE SECTION

This section contains 37 multiple choices of two questions types – Data sufficiency and Problem solving. You will be allowed a maximum of 75mins to complete the entire section.

VERBAL SECTION

This section contains 41 multiple choice sections types – Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning and Sentences Corrections. You are allowed a maximum of
75 minutes to complete the entire section.

GRE:- GRADUATE RECORD ECAMINATION

The general test is offered as a computer based test in Kenya, U.S.A, Canada and many other countries. This test measures the skills that have been developed over
a long period of time and are not particularly related to any field of study. The test is composed of analytic writing(AW), verbal(V) and quantitative(Q) sections.
Typical testing time is listed below:

AW – 75mins section writing tasks;
– Present your perspective on an issue; 45mins
– Analyze an argument – 30mins
V – 30mins section – 30 questions
Q – 24mins section – 28 questions

In addition an unidentified V or Q question that does not count towards a score maybe included. Be sure to do both V and Q section since you will not know
which one will be counted towards your score.

An unidentified research question that is not scored may also be included in the computer – based general test.

understand the scores you earn.
